Balgowlah Heights Community Tennis

Bareena Park Tennis Club was founded in 1957, and its charter is to promote tennis in the community by offering organised tennis and coaching for its members, the young and the not-so-young. We also provide court rental and coaching to the broader public. Our facilities include five well-maintained mod grass courts, a separate practice wall, and our classic, beautifully maintained 1957 clubhouse with a modern kitchen, shower and bathrooms. The Bareena coaching program is managed by Mark and Jenny Nissen who share over 50 years combined experience in the Tennis Industry. Club Professional Mark is a qualified Club Professional coach with Tennis Australia. Mark has been coaching all levels of tennis in Sydney for over 30 years. He is also a Master Racquet Technician who has previously strung racquets at the Australian Open and most recently the United Cup. Mark’s team of experienced coaches provide coaching for all levels of players from beginners to advanced in both private and group lessons. Adult and Junior Coaching Adult and junior coaching is available 6 days per week. Our specialised junior coaching and competition programs have been running for over a decade and ensure junior players learn the game in a safe, fun environment. Cardio sessions are also available so that the adult members can stay fit! Younger junior players are catered for in our Tennis Australia MLC Hot Shots program employing modified equipment and low compression red, orange & green balls. As they progress juniors have the option of playing in one of our 20 junior teams that participate in the Tennis Northern Beaches junior competitions.
