Private lessons
One-to-one coaching, booked against real availability
1st month free. A card is required to start, and nothing is charged until your free month ends. The free profile and free tiers never need one.
TL;DR
- A slot is only offered when the coach AND the facility are both free at that time.
- Price is set per duration tier, because a half-hour junior hit is not half of an hour with an adult.
- Semi-private is a flat price for the whole party on a tier, not a surcharge per extra head.
- Requests come to you for approval by default, and a decline can carry a suggested alternative.
- A minimum lead time in hours stops the 8pm booking for 7am, enforced in your club's timezone.
A private lesson is a one-on-one - or small semi-private - session between a coach and a player. It is the format most often run entirely by message, and the one where that costs the most: every booking is a negotiation about when the coach is free, whether a court is free, what it costs, and whether it has been paid for.
Try it on this term's class
1st month free. A card is required to start, and nothing is charged until your free month ends. The free profile and free tiers never need one.
Availability is checked on both sides
When a player picks a date and time, AllSquads checks the coach's availability and the court or facility's availability at the same time. Both have to be free for the booking to proceed. That single detail is what makes a private-lesson booking page usable at all: a slot the player can select is a slot that genuinely exists, not one you then have to walk back.
Pricing is tiered by duration
Private lessons are priced per duration - 30, 45 and 60 minutes each carry their own price, because a 30-minute junior lesson is not half a 60-minute adult one. The price the player sees before paying is the price charged.
- Each duration tier has its own price
- Semi-private is configured per tier: a separate flat price for that tier, shared by the party
- That flat price is for the whole booking - the booker pays it, and it is not a per-extra-player surcharge
- A duration with no semi-private price set simply never offers semi-private
You stay in control of what you accept
Private lessons require coach approval by default: the request comes to you and you accept or decline it, and a decline can carry a suggested alternative time rather than just ending the conversation. If you would rather bookings just land, auto-approval can be enabled per class. You can also set a minimum lead time in hours - with a 24-hour lead time, slots inside the next 24 hours are not offered at all. Both the availability calendar and the time-slot picker enforce it, in your club's timezone.
Where private lessons appear to players
Private lessons render in their own area of your club page rather than being mixed into the date-sorted "Upcoming classes" list - a private lesson has no fixed next session, so a schedule is the wrong place for it. Players find them under the club's Coaching tab, or by selecting Private in the class-type filter, and every published private lesson has a working Book link.
How it differs from a group lesson
A group lesson has a fixed time that players book into. A private lesson has availability that players book against. That is why the private format carries approval, lead times and dual availability checking, and the group format carries capacity and waitlists - they are solving different problems. Coaches commonly run both, with group classes as the base and private lessons filling the gaps in the week.
Who it suits
Independent coaches whose income is mostly one-to-one work, and club coaches who take private bookings alongside a squad program. If you are currently agreeing times over message and invoicing afterwards, this is the format where moving to online booking removes the most back-and-forth per dollar earned.
Which setup fits you?
Most of what you earn is one-to-one work
Good fitThen the dual availability check is the thing worth having. Every hour you currently spend agreeing a time by message, and every time you double-book yourself because the court diary lives somewhere else, is the cost this format removes. The slot a player can select is a slot that genuinely exists.
You want a per-head surcharge when a second player joins
Worth knowingThat is not how semi-private pricing works here, and it is worth knowing before you build your rates. A semi-private price is a single flat amount for that duration, paid by whoever books, shared by the party. If your pricing depends on charging per additional player, you will have to express it as tier prices instead.
You coach for a club and take private work on the side
Worth knowingThis runs alongside a squad program without interfering with it, but the answer depends on who owns the facility slot. If the club controls the courts, your private availability has to sit inside what the club has released, or the availability check will keep telling players you are not free when you are.
You would rather bookings just land without you approving them
Good fitTurn auto-approval on for that class and they do. Approval is the default rather than the rule, and it is set per class, so you can accept junior bookings automatically and keep adult ones under review if that is how your week works.

What AllSquads is
AllSquads is booking, payments and admin software for sports coaches and clubs. Players find your classes, book and pay online, and get reminded before every session. You get the roster, the money and the contact record in one place, with a payout to your bank every week. It runs term programs, casual classes, camps, private lessons and court hire side by side, so the whole operation is in one system rather than a booking tool plus a spreadsheet plus a payment app.
