AFL club and Auskick program booking software

Auskick, junior squads, clinics and the ground everybody wants on Saturday

1st month free. A card is required to start, and nothing is charged until your free month ends. The free profile and free tiers never need one.

TL;DR

  • The programs are not complicated; the number of people passing through the gate is.
  • AFL Auskick is run by the AFL, and it registers as a block rather than as a weekly sign-up.
  • Ground hours on a Saturday are the scarcest thing the club owns, and they are bookable rather than negotiated.
  • One deposit each week and one contact list, instead of a canteen float and a shared inbox.

Australian football clubs carry more people through the gate than almost anything else on this list, and most of them are still run by a committee, a canteen roster and a shared inbox. The programs themselves are not complicated. What is complicated is doing them at scale with volunteers: hundreds of families to register, a ground allocation to defend, a growing girls and women's program that needs its own sessions, and a season that starts whether or not the paperwork is finished.

Auskick as a bookable program

AFL Auskick is the AFL's own national entry-level program for young children, and clubs typically run it as a weekly session on a Friday evening or before a senior game, staffed by parents. On AllSquads it is a program with a start date, an end date, a weekly pattern and one price for the block, generating a roster for each session. Registrations are paid at the point of booking rather than collected in an envelope, and each one creates a contact record with its history, which is the list the club emails next February.

Junior squads and the girls program

Junior football is split into age groups, and clubs increasingly run parallel girls and boys programs at the same ages. Each group is its own class with its own capacity, price and roster rather than a note beside a shared one. A class that is not running this year can be paused rather than deleted, which keeps its history and its bookings intact, and a class that is genuinely finished is archived instead of removed. That distinction matters when someone asks in three years what a program cost.

Holiday clinics and one-off events

A school-holiday clinic is a run of days rather than a weekly commitment, priced as the whole clinic, per week where it runs across both, or as a day rate where individual days are sold, and the days do not have to be consecutive. A one-off event such as a family day, a come-and-try session or a preseason skills morning is published as a single dated session with its own capacity. If a clinic has to move for heat or ground conditions, it shifts as a whole and every enrolled family is notified and offered a full credit.

Ground and facility hours

Clubs with their own ground, nets, gym or function space can sell those hours as facility hire in half-hour blocks against live availability, with a member rate and a separate evening rate for the hours under lights. A regular hirer can book a repeating slot for up to twelve weeks and cancel the whole series at once. Where a club runs more than one ground, both are managed from a single account with their own settings and their own coordinators.

Talking to a very large club

Communication is the thing that breaks first at this scale. Every program gets its own group chat so a message about the under-elevens goes to the under-elevens, and a club-wide announcement reaches everyone following the club without anyone maintaining a distribution list. Automatic reminders go out a day and an hour before each session. Text messages are reserved for cancellations specifically, which keeps the channel meaningful: if a member gets a text from the club, something has actually changed.

One deposit, one list

Everything paid through the club page across a week arrives as a single transfer the following week, itemised per booking in the dashboard, with Stripe's processing fee absorbed rather than deducted separately. The count shown against a payout is players rather than bookings, which is the number a registrar can check against a roster. For a treasurer, an entire Auskick intake becomes one line to reconcile instead of three hundred.

Which setup fits you?

Your club is large and still run by a committee and a shared inbox

Good fit

That gap between size and structure is the reason to do this. Self-service registration and one contact list built from the bookings themselves remove the two jobs that scale worst with the number of families on your books.

You want team selection, best-and-fairest or match records

Worth knowing

None of it. The league's own systems keep the football record. Registration, the junior programs, the clinics, the ground hours and the money are what move, and none of them require a match to be scored.

Your ground is shared with cricket over summer

Worth knowing

It works, and multi-season use is normal, but the split has to be a real one. Publish only the hours your club actually holds in a given season, or the booking page will offer a Saturday in November that belongs to somebody else.

An Australian football club uses it to register hundreds of families without an envelope, keep every program on one calendar with its own roster, message a single age group rather than the whole club, and receive one weekly transfer it can actually reconcile.
