Cricket club and coaching booking software
Blast, junior coaching, camps and the nets that still get booked by ringing whoever has the key

TL;DR
Running a cricket club on WhatsApp and invoices, or on AllSquads
- In the group chat the nets go to whoever texts the key-holder first, and Tuesday at six is double-booked by the second person who texts.
- On AllSquads a net is a half-hour slot checked against live availability, with a members rate and an evening rate that apply themselves.
- Coaching blocks sell before round one with one price for the block, the season's sessions generated for you and public holidays flagged.
- A washout is one cancellation, one SMS to everyone booked, and a credit that follows the class policy rather than the argument.
- The treasurer gets one weekly transfer with a per-booking breakdown behind it, instead of a season of transfers into three accounts.
A cricket club's year is compressed and weather-dependent. The season runs through the warm months, the coaching program has to be sold before it starts, holiday camps land in the middle of it, and the nets are in demand from September until they are suddenly not. Junior cricket is played in modified formats that differ by age group, so a club is really running several small products at once, and in most clubs every one of them is run from a different volunteer's phone.

How most cricket clubs run the season today
The club captain's mobile number is the booking system for the nets. Blast registrations arrive on a form at the first session, or through an online form that asks families to transfer the fee with the child's name as the reference, which about half of them do. Coaching fees for the age groups are invoiced by the treasurer in September and chased through November while the children keep turning up. The holiday camp is advertised on the club's social page and paid for the same way. Each program has its own spreadsheet, kept by whoever runs it, and at the end of the season one volunteer sits down with the bank feed and tries to match it to all of them.
- Three programs, three spreadsheets, three people, one bank account, and a reconciliation nobody wants to own.
- The nets are free on Tuesday according to the chat and booked according to the person who did not read the chat.
- A washout is handled at the ground, out loud, and the credits promised there are remembered by the families and not by the club.
Where the manual cricket season breaks
A cricket season does not give a club much time to notice these, because they all land in the same six weeks before round one.
- The key-holder is the bottleneck: nobody can book a net without ringing one person, and that person would like a Tuesday off.
- Double bookings: two squads turn up to the same net because two messages went to two different people.
- Fees chased into November: the coaching block is half paid by the time it is half over, and the coach is the one asking.
- Washouts on a Saturday morning mean thirty messages, a credit promised to each family in the car park, and a list nobody wrote down.
- Member rates: members expect cheaper nets and casuals expect the price they were quoted, and both are applied from memory.
- The age-group roster is the coach's memory plus a screenshot of the chat, so a coach who is away means a session run blind.
- Camp families pay for five days and come for two, or the reverse, and the difference is settled by argument.
- When the treasurer changes at the AGM, the booking system leaves the club with them, because it was their phone.
Cricket Blast and the entry-level end
Cricket Australia's Cricket Blast is the entry-level program most clubs use to bring in primary-age players, typically as a weekly run of sessions early in the season with volunteer coaches and a lot of parents standing around the boundary. Set the start and end dates and the evening it runs, and the sessions are generated for you with one price for the block. Every registration creates a contact record with its history attached, so next September the club is emailing a list it already has rather than starting again on social media.
Age-group coaching blocks
Junior cricket is played in modified formats, with the youngest age groups on shorter pitch lengths and softer balls before moving to the full game, so a club typically runs two or three separate coaching groups rather than one. Each is its own class with its own capacity, price and roster. Where a group is selected rather than open, publish it as invite-only and it never appears in a public search. A price change to a live program only ever applies to new enrolments, so a family that paid in August is not affected by a decision made in October, and a family that joins in week four can be charged for the sessions left if you turn pro-rata on.
Net bookings
Nets are the thing everybody wants in the fortnight before round one and nobody wants in February, and in most clubs they are still booked by texting whoever has the key. Facility hire puts them online: a date, a specific net, a start time in half-hour increments, checked against live availability, so the second squad to ask for Tuesday at six is told it is taken rather than turning up to find out. A member rate applies automatically to registered players, and an evening rate can be set separately from a daytime one, which is what stops every booking landing at six o'clock. A squad that trains at the same time every week can lock a repeating booking for up to twelve weeks and cancel the series in one go when the season ends.
Holiday camps
A cricket camp is a run of days, often not consecutive, and it sells differently from a coaching block: some families want all five days, some want the two their child is free. Camps support a full-camp price, per-week pricing where it spans more than one week, and a day rate where individual days are on sale, so the family that wants two days pays for two days and the argument in the car park does not happen. If a heat policy or a ground closure forces the dates to move, the whole camp shifts together, every enrolled family is notified, and they are given the option to cancel for a full credit.
What the club is actually selling
These behave differently once they are live, and it is worth choosing deliberately rather than publishing everything as the same thing.
| What it is | Schedule shape | Who sees it | What a change does |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cricket Blast | Weekly run early in the season | Public | Enrolled families notified, credit offered |
| Age-group coaching | Weekly block per age group, drop-in optional | Public or invite-only | Price changes apply to new enrolments only |
| Holiday camp | Selected days, not always consecutive | Public | Whole camp shifts together |
| Net hire | Half-hour blocks, repeatable weekly | Members and casual, different rates | Player reschedules or cancels the series |
Money, and the volunteer who has to reconcile it
Everything paid through the club page between Monday and Sunday arrives as one transfer the following week, with a per-booking breakdown behind it in the dashboard. Stripe's processing fee is absorbed by AllSquads rather than deducted separately, and the count shown against a payout is players rather than bookings, so it reconciles against a roster instead of against a payment log. A club can publish and start taking registrations before its bank details are fully verified; the money simply accrues and pays out once onboarding finishes. The end-of-season afternoon with the bank feed stops existing, because the breakdown was there every week.
Manual vs AllSquads
| WhatsApp, invoices and a spreadsheet | AllSquads | |
|---|---|---|
| Getting paid | Transfers into whichever account was on the form; matched by the treasurer in November | Paid at registration by card or wallet, before the place exists |
| The roster | The coach's memory, a screenshot of the chat and a spreadsheet nobody updates | The paid list per session, per age group, drop-ins included, on the coach's phone |
| Cancellations | Thirty messages on a wet Saturday and credits promised out loud | One cancellation, SMS and email to every booked player, credit issued per the class policy |
| Reminders | A message in the group the night before, if someone remembers | Email and in-app a day out, in-app an hour out, every session |
| Member pricing | Members pay less for nets if they say they are members | The member rate applies at checkout to anyone with an active membership on their record |
| Waitlist | A note in the coach's phone and a lucky reply | Activates when a group is full and offers the place in join order |
| Payouts | Money sitting in a personal account until someone moves it | One transfer to the club's bank every week, itemised per booking |
| Records | A bank export, an online form and a shoebox | Every registration, payment and credit on the player's contact record, season to season |
Where the manual way is fine for a cricket club
A club with one senior squad, one net and fixed training nights, where everyone pays their subs once a year and nobody outside the squad ever uses the nets, does not have a booking problem and does not need booking software. A dozen juniors with one volunteer coach and a fee collected in cash at the first session is the same. And the fixture, the scoring, the averages and the association records are not what this is: those stay in the systems built for them and this page will not pretend otherwise. The manual way stops being fine at the second squad wanting the net, the first member rate, the first washout with money attached, or the first handover to a new committee.
Which setup fits your cricket club?
Somebody has to be rung before anyone can use a net
Good fitThat is the bottleneck this removes first. Net time becomes bookable against genuine availability, with a members rate if you want one, and the person who currently holds the key stops being the booking system.
You want scorecards, averages or MyCricket records here
Worth knowingKeep those exactly where they are. Scoring, averages and association records stay in the systems built for them, and nothing on this site will suggest otherwise. What moves to AllSquads is the coaching program, the camps, the net hire and the money behind all three, which is where the committee's hours actually go.
Rain takes out a third of your season
Worth knowingThe forecasting stays yours and the fallout stops being. You make the call on the morning; the platform cancels the session, tells every booked player by SMS and email, and issues the credit the class policy specifies, so nothing is promised in the car park and forgotten by Tuesday.
Your junior program is really three programs
Good fitRun each age group as its own class with its own capacity, price and roster, under the one club. A price rise mid-season applies to new enrolments only, a selected squad can be invite-only so it never appears in public search, and drop-in can be switched on for the group that takes casual players.
The treasurer changes every AGM
Good fitThe bookings, the payouts and the itemised history live on the club's account, not on a person. A new treasurer inherits the same weekly transfer and the same breakdown the last one had, and nothing has to be exported from anyone's inbox on the way out.
Choose AllSquads, or stay in the group chat
Choose AllSquads if
- More than one person needs to book the nets, or the person with the key would like a night off.
- Coaching fees are chased into November while the children keep turning up.
- Members and casuals pay different rates and someone has to remember who is which.
- A washout has ever produced a credit that was promised out loud and never written down.
- The treasurer reconciles the season from a bank export, and then hands the job to someone new.
Stick with WhatsApp if
- One senior squad, one net, fixed training nights, subs paid once a year in cash.
- A dozen juniors, one volunteer coach, and a fee collected at the first session.
- All you need is somewhere to keep the fixture and the scores, which is not what this is.

Move the club across before round one
A cricket club moves in the fortnight before the season, while the nets are quiet. Nothing has to be migrated, the trial is the full product, and the nets can go live before the coaching blocks do.
Import last season's list
Contacts, then Import, takes a CSV with names and emails, skipping duplicates by email. Every registration from then on creates the contact automatically, so the list is never rebuilt on social media again.
Add the nets as courts
Court Hire, then Manage Courts: each net, its available hours, a standard rate and a member rate, and a day-night threshold if the evening slots should cost more. Block the dates the ground is unavailable.
Publish the coaching blocks
One term-style class per age group: start and end dates, the evening it runs, the public holidays flagged for you to exclude, and one price for the block. Make a selected squad invite-only.
Put the camp up as days and a full price
Pick the days, set a full-camp price and a day rate, and let families choose. If the dates move, every enrolled family is told and offered a full credit.
Share the club link and go live
The Go Live checklist wants a profile, a venue and a linked coach. Bank details can follow: bookings accrue and pay out on the normal weekly schedule once Stripe onboarding completes.
What to try in your first week
Each of these takes a few minutes inside the free trial and ends with something a committee member can be shown on a phone.
Book a net for Tuesday at six as a member, then try to book the same net at the same time as a casual.
Two different rates at checkout, and the second booking is refused because the net is taken.
Sell one coaching block and open the roster.
The child is on the paid list for every generated session, with the public holidays you excluded already missing.
Cancel a session for rain.
Every booked player gets the SMS and the email, and the credit shows on their account at the rate your policy set.
Raise the price on a live block.
Existing enrolments keep the price they paid; only new registrations see the new one.
Open Payouts once the week has closed.
One transfer for the week, itemised per booking, with a player count that matches the roster.
Book the same squad into the same net for the next twelve weeks.
One repeating booking, cancellable as a series in a single action when the season ends.

AllSquads at a cricket club
AllSquads is the booking, payment and admin layer an Australian club runs on. A cricket club uses it to sell its junior program, its coaching blocks, its camps and its net time from one page, keep a contact list that survives the off-season and the AGM, and receive one weekly transfer with an itemised breakdown instead of a season of individual payments into somebody's personal account.
