What is "What's new"?
If you manage a club or coach, a What's new card sits in the last row of your Home tab, beside the "Have you tried...?" card on a wide screen (and filling the row on its own once that card is gone). It always shows your most recent updates and stays there — it does not disappear, and it does not empty out once you have read the items on it. A small marker shows which entries you have not opened yet.
Announcements occasionally also appear as a pop-up the next time you load your dashboard — but only for the rare update that needs your direct action, such as a security setting change. Most updates are card-only and never interrupt you with a pop-up.
Where to find past announcements
Every announcement that has ever been published stays available on the What's new page, newest first. Reach it from either:
- The What's new card on your Home tab — a "See all" link
- The Help menu — a "What's new" link
- The notification bell — a "What's new" entry at the top
A small dot appears on the Help menu and notification bell entry points when there is an announcement you have not opened yet. Opening the What's new page clears the dot.
Who sees which announcements
Announcements can be aimed at club staff, coaches, players, or any combination — and sometimes at club owners and admins only, when the update is about a setting only they can change — an update about a new coaching tool, for example, only shows to coaches. If you hold more than one role (say, a club owner who also plays), you will still only see any given announcement once, no matter which of your roles it was aimed at.
The monthly email
Once a month we email a short summary of the announcements published since the last email, so you don't have to visit the What's new page to catch up. Each edition is checked and approved by the AllSquads team before it goes out, and an approved edition sends on the 1st of the month at 9am Brisbane time. The first edition covers September and October 2026 together. There are two editions, and every account gets at most one of them:
- Players get a player-focused edition covering announcements aimed at players.
- Clubs and coaches (including owners and admins) get a club/coach edition instead, covering announcements aimed at club staff and coaches.
If your account holds a club or coach role as well as the player role, you get the club/coach edition — never both. In a month with no club or coach news, you get the player edition instead, so you never miss out.
Each edition gives every new feature its own bold heading with a sentence or two about it, and a button at the end to see everything on your What's new page. Links in the email are tappable, and it is set out to read easily on a phone.
- Player edition. Some features only appear for players once their club or coach has switched them on, for example payment plans, direct debit, court splitting, terms and packages, and vouchers. Those are worded "If your club offers it", so you know to ask your club or coach if you don't see one yet.
- Club and coach edition. Where a feature needs switching on, the email says where, in a short "How:" line under it.
A few things worth knowing:
- You only get it if you opted in to promotional email. It is covered by the promotions toggle in Settings → Notifications, and that toggle is off unless you turned it on. Every edition also carries an unsubscribe link.
- One email per person, one edition. You never receive both editions in the same month, whichever roles your account holds.
- Nothing is sent in a quiet month. If there were no announcements for your edition since the last email, there is no email.
- Each announcement is emailed once. Every edition picks up where the last one ended, so an announcement never appears in two emails, and an edition that has gone out cannot be sent again.
- We check the wording first. If an announcement contains something that shouldn't reach an outside inbox, such as an internal reference number or a link to an internal page, the whole edition is held back and the AllSquads team is told why, rather than sending it.
- Your normal AllSquads notifications are unaffected — booking confirmations, payment receipts and the rest are not promotional and are never silenced by the promotions toggle.
Dismissing an announcement
Closing an announcement (the close button or the Escape key) is remembered on your account, not just in your current browser — so it stays dismissed even if you next sign in on a different device.
